UNITAMS Supports Strengthening of Protective Environment through Building Sudanese Policing Capacities on Gender Related Protection Issues

UNITAMS continues to support the Sudanese Police Force in promoting gender equality and enhancing effective policing response to address Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and Conflict-related Sexual Violence (CRSV) as a critical protection issue through strategic dialogue, trainings and collaboration with other UN agencies, funds, programs, and partners.

UNITAMS has been mandated under United Nations Security Council resolution 2579 (2021) to assist in peacebuilding, civilian protection, and rule of law; with the aim of supporting the strengthening of the protective environment in conflict or post-conflict areas, as well as supporting institutional reforms and the promotion and protection of human rights.
