Support to Civilian Protection

The Office of Support to Civilian Protection (OSCP) will serve to support the Government in preventing conflicts and violence and protecting populations at risk of violence, promoting human rights, and strengthening accountable rule of law and security institutions, including to uphold accountability. Through strategic engagement on protection, policy assistance, and accountability, the Office of Support to Civilian Protection will support the Government in its implementation of the National Plan for Civilian Protection, coordinate United Nations responses on civilian protection issues, with particular attention to conflict-related sexual violence and children and armed conflict, strengthen rule of law and security institutions to protect the population and deliver justice and accountability, and support the authorities’ early warning and conflict prevention efforts through integrated data collection and analysis.
