Statement from the Trilateral Mechanism

Today the Trilateral Mechanism attended a meeting with civilian and military Framework Agreement signatories and representatives of political parties and movements non-signatories to the Framework Agreement to support these parties in reaching consensus on the political process.

The Trilateral Mechanism urged these parties to reach an agreement as soon as possible as another step towards ending the political crisis and achieving greater political inclusivity. The Trilateral Mechanism considers that the Framework Agreement provides the basis for reaching a final political agreement and the formation of a new creditable civilian transition, which meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people for a democratic, prosperous future.
