SRSG Volker Perthes today conducted a one-day visit to Al Geneina (West Darfur) to underline the UN’s strong concern on the situation in Darfur, in light of recurring cycles of violence and high prevalence of food insecurity.
Between 26 to 30 May 2022, UNITAMS and the United Nations Country Team conducted a workshop for 56 military commanders and cadres, representing the Government security forces and signatory armed movements of the Juba Peace Agreement
From May 10 to 17, the UNITAMS peacebuilding team joined by colleagues from UN OCHA, WFP, UNHCR, UNDP, UNICEF, UN Women, UNFPA, UNMAS, OHCRH and IOM visited the Blue Nile Region.
